THE ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT RUTHERFORD HOWE

(This is similar to the assassination of JFK in our history, but it happened differently in Neo-Noire’s history)

Rutherford Howe, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on July 29, 1963 in San Francisco, California, while speaking out against The Soviet Coalition and Rodin Zharkov and their actions in Eurasia. Howe was on a small tour across America to publicly denounce the Soviet Coalition and their actions to call for more people to enlist into the United States Army and gain more support for troops overseas, when he was fatally shot by a Soviet operative from a nearby building. The President was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital where President Howe was pronounced dead about thirty minutes after the shooting.

A man named Yefim Azarov was arrested by the San Francisco Police Department 45 minutes after the initial shooting. Azarov was charged under United States law with the capital offense of the murder of President Howe and the murder of a San Francisco policeman Robert Stanley, who had been fatally shot a short time after the assassination. In 1964 Azarov was sentenced to death by electrocution for 1 count of the murder of a US President and another count of murder. In early 1966 an execution day was finally set for February 3rd of 1966. At 9:12 AM PST Azarov was put to death by use of the electric chair. The execution of Azarov was publicly broadcasted with warnings of graphic imagery to the public of the United States. According to public accounts, many people celebrated the day of his execution due to the immense affection people had for President Howe.
